New pool of equipment for people with progressive neurological conditions

ILC Tas now has a pool of 10 communication systems for people in Tasmania with progressive neurological conditions, thanks to a successful grant from the Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF).

These systems can be accessed via eye gaze, head tracking, switches and direct access. These devices can be configured to meet individual needs.

We are very pleased the TCF could see the worth of this project and the difference it will make to the lives of people living with progressive neurological conditions in Tasmania and their families.  Typically these systems can cost around $7,000 each so this grant will make equipment available to people who would not otherwise be able to obtain them..

Clients must not be a current participant of the NDIS and a quarterly administration fee of $150 inc GST will be charged.  Please talk to us if this is a problem for you.

Conditions include multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, motor neurone disease and others.

Referrals can be made through your speech pathologist, Multiple Sclerosis Limited, MND Tas, Muscular Dystophy Tas, THS Palliative Care or directly to ILC Tas.  Call us on (03) 6335 9200 to find out more.
